Career Overview/ Highlight : Glenn Maxwell IPL 2012 to 2024

Maxwell made his IPL debut for Delhi Daredevils when he was called in as a replacement player for Travis Birt in 2012. However, he became the toast of the town after becoming the most expensive player for the 2013 auction, as Mumbai Indians bought him for $1 million.

However, his season bombed as he played just three games. Nevertheless, his international stocks kept rising, and Punjab Kings paid ₹6 crore in the 2014 auction. He slammed 552 runs at a strike rate of 187 and helped the Mohali-based side reach the final that season.

Although his performance started to drop in the subsequent years, he was given the captaincy in the 2017 season. In 2019, he pulled out of the IPL auction to focus on the ODI World Cup.

Nonetheless, in 2020, he returned to Punjab again. The franchise splashed out a whopping ₹10.75 crore. But it was a disappointing season for him, scoring just 108 runs in 13 matches.

But when it seemed that his IPL career was over, RCB gave him the perfect opportunity for a comeback, buying him for ₹14.25 crore in the 2021 auction, where he has been retained ever since, thanks to his consistent performances.
