Delhi Capitals (DC) is the lone Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise from the capital city. Unlike the prominent teams, DC is one of the most underachievers in the league. After reaching the semi-finals in the first two IPL seasons, the franchises struggled for consistency, failing to qualify for playoffs in a couple of seasons. A change in the team name and the arrival of a new owner changed its fortunes. DC was runner-up in the 2021 season and will look to challenge the top teams and end the trophy drought in the upcoming season.
