CPL Winners List – A Glimpse at all the CPL Finals

Let us have a look at all the CPL finals from 2013 to 2022:

2013 CPL Final – Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs

The 2013 CPL final took place on 24th August between the Jamaica Tallawahs and the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Batting first, Guyana scored a below-par 128 runs. Jamaica chased down the total easily, winning the match by seven wickets. With this win, Jamaica became the first-time winner of the CPL.

Chris Gayle from Jamaica was named the player of the match for his 47* runs and one wicket.

Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Barbados Tridents – 2014 CPL Final

The 2014 CPL final took place on 16th August between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Tridents. Barbados posted a competitive 152 runs. In a rain-curtailed chase, Guyana fell short by eight runs.

 Player of the Match

Shoaib Malik from Barbados was named the player of the match for his 55* runs.

2015 CPL Final – Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel vs Barbados Tridents

The 2015 CPL final took place on 26th July between the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel and Barbados Tridents. Trinidad scored 178 runs, while Barbados could only manage 158. This is the first time the Trinidad team made their way to the CPL winners list.

Kamran Akmal from Trinidad was named the player of the match for his 60 runs.

2016 CPL Final – Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs

The 2016 CPL final took place on 7th August between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs. Guyana was bowled out for just 93 runs. Jamaica chased down the total in just 12.5 overs with nine wickets in hand.

Imad Wasim from Jamaica was named the player of the match for his brilliant 3-21 bowling spell.
2017 CPL Final – Trinbago Knight Riders vs St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots
The 2017 CPL final took place on 9th September between the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and the Trinbago Knight Riders. St. Kitts posted a decent 135 runs on the board. In this closely contested final, Trinbago won the match by three wickets.

Kevon Cooper from Trinbago was named the player of the match for his 29* runs and two wickets.
Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders – 2018 CPL Final
The 2018 CPL final took place on 16th September between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders. Batting first, Guyana managed to post 147 runs. The Trinbago team was brilliant in the chase, winning the match by eight wickets.

Khary Pierre from Trinbago was named the player of the match for his crucial three wickets.
Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Barbados Tridents – 2019 CPL Final 
The 2019 CPL final took place on 12th October between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Tridents. Barbados batted brilliantly to post 171 runs in the first inning. Guyana could not get going and managed only 144 runs, losing the match by 27 runs.

Jonathan Carter from Barbados was named the player of the match for his 50* runs.
2020 CPL Final – St. Lucia Zouks vs Trinbago Knight Riders
The 2020 CPL final took place on 10th September between the St. Lucia Zouks and Trinbago Knight Riders. The St. Lucia team was bowled out for 154 runs. Trinbago won the match by eight wickets with 11 balls to spare. Trinbago started dominating the CPL Winners list. 

 Player of the Match

Lendl Simmons from the Trinbago Knight Riders was named the player of the match for his 84* runs.
2021 CPL Final – St. Lucia Kings vs St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots
The 2021 CPL final took place on 15th September between the St. Lucia Kings and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. St. Lucia posted a competitive 159 runs on the board. In an epic battle, St. Kitts won the match on the last ball of the match.

 Player of the Match

Dominic Drakes from St. Kitts was named the player of the match for his 48* runs and one wicket.
2022 CPL Final – Barbados Royals vs Jamaica Tallawahs
The 2022 CPL final took place on 30th September between the Barbados Royals and Jamaica Tallawahs. Barbados scored 161 runs in the first inning of the match. Jamaica chased down the target with absolute ease, winning the match by eight wickets and with eight wickets in hand.

Fabian Allen from Jamaica was named the player of the match for his 3/24 bowling spell.
